CVAA has developed national comprehensive clinical practice standards and guidelines and accompanying implementation tools.

Purpose: CVAA membership has indicated by survey that national practice guidelines are a priority and the Board of Directors have pledged to develop guidelines based on existing guidelines and consensus recommendations. The project will provide reference and tools for best practice for clinicians involved in vascular access and infusion therapy. They will be the major practice publications developed, produced and disseminated by CVAA.  

The guideline development adhered to the ADAPTE methodology. The document includes a summary of evidence, consensus-based practice recommendations and implementation tools to support application of recommendations in Canadian practice.
