Create Your Own VASC!

Create a Vascular Access Student Club at your school!

We welcome you to view this brief video about how to bring vascular access and infusion therapy education to your nursing students:

What is CVAA?

CVAA is the Canadian Vascular Access Association, a non-profit, national association providing education, resources, networking, best practice guidance to clinicians working in vascular access and/or infusion therapy. We were founded in 1975 and have members and chapters across Canada and internationally. We publish the comprehensive best practice guidelines, offer a certification, journal, education events, and much more!

What is VASC?

VASC stands for Vascular Access Student Club. VASC operates within nursing schools with students and a faculty advisor and is supported by CVAA. Each VASC organizes hands-on opportunities for nursing students to practice vascular access and infusion therapy skills outside of the classroom, in hopes to build confidence in this area of care.

What can we offer your students?

  • hands-on skills practice events (in person or virtual)
  • workshops
  • guest speakers
  • industry technology presentations
  • tools for practice

See here a first-hand account of how the VASC is formed and how it is valuable to students.

What do you need to do to get involved?

Reach out! We need a few students who are interested in getting involved in this club as well as a supportive faculty advisor. Here you can see a letter from the VASC at McGill faculty advisor to tell you what is involved.

We'd love to have a chat to answer questions - feel free to get in touch!
